SERVICES TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Co-ordination and arrangement of appropriate Home Stay accommodation for the student son or daughter. 
 
 
Provision of written and video Host family profiles to assist choice of Home Stay accommodation.
 
 
Liaison between overseas students with their parents and Home Stay family.
 
 
Provision of counseling or mediation via school Welfare Officer or International Student Co-Ordinator in the event of a major dispute between the Host Family and the overseas student.
 
 
 
Provision of alternative Home Stay accommodation in the event of a complete breakdown in the relationship between Host Family and the overseas student.
 
 
 
Student folder containing comprehensive summary of local living requirements including information on climate, suggested clothing, food, local laws, transportation, banking, doctors, hospitals, medical insurance claims, identification, student budgets and finance. In addition, a listing of local emergency and contact phone numbers is provided.

Brief Tour of Melbourne highlight central business district, major ships, churches, transport and other essential facilities.
 
Delivery and introduction to Home Stay family
    

(3) Orientation Package

Organization and Co-Ordination of - 
(a) School Orientation
(b) Purchase of school books
(c) Purchase of school uniform
(d) Establishment of Bank Accounts
(e) Explanation of local public transportation and ticketing
   

(4) Guardianship Package

(a) Legal responsibility or overseas student whilst in Australia
(b) Liaison with overseas placement agencies regarding Student Visa application and approval.
(c) Responsibility and guidance in matters pertaining to overseas student's finances.
(d) General student support and guidance as required.
(e) Regular visits with student to ensure student comfort, well being, health and academic progress. 
(f) Regular contact with school to ensure academic progress and that the student is comfortable in the school environment.
(g) Collation of school reports and other relevant details for periodic submission to parents overseas.
(h) General liaison between overseas student, their parents, the Host Family and the school.
   

(5) Monitoring Package

(a) Quarterly written reports to overseas parents of the student detailing current academic reports, results and progress with comments on other relevant personal issues pertaining to the particular student.
(b) Regular contact with Host Family and the student to ensure maintenance of harmony within the Home Stay environment and general student well being. Written reporting on these matters as and when appropriate.
   
(6) Short term parent stay package
Arrangements of short term serviced accommodation for parents and other family members accompanying the new overseas students during the "settling in" period.
   

(7) Holiday Packages

Organization of escorted and chaperoned group tours during prescribed holiday periods to places of interest locally, in country Victoria, and interstate utilizing the services of registered and approved tour companies and operators.
   

(8) Tutorial Liaison

Arrangement of tutorial services for selected subjects.

OTHER SERVICES

Car Rental Liaison
Arrangement of car rental for parents of other adult family members whilst in Australia. Please note: A current International Drivers License is a prerequisite for car rental in Australia.
   
Local Tours and Sightseeing Liaison
Arrangement of local tours and sightseeing through local registered and approved tour companies and operators.
